I would describe The Innkeepers as a thriller with a slightly frightening corpse.

Innkeepers is another Ti West slow-burn horror (like House of the Devil). I’m not a personal fan of slow-burn, but I can understand the appeal. The Innkeepers simply didn’t have a large enough pay-off to be successful. See those GIFs up there? Those are the only scary bits of the whole one hour and fourty minute film.

On the terms of me considering this as a thriller, I thought it was decent. Funny and likeable characters at least.


Pretty much this. The best thing about it (to me anyways) is the main characters were very likeable and fairly amusing.

aaand I was really unhappy that I spent money on this movie.  To me nothing really happened in the entire thing.  The trailer looked as cool as these GIFs, but the actual movie?  Yeah, no.
